Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has received high praise from the blogs and the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which are widely loved. Katy Perry's praise for her track Runaway in a blog post gave the artist some additional acknowledgement. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering the piano in her attic, then becoming enthralled by the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music as a passion rather than as a job. The Aksnes family inspired her to write. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favorite songwriters. Her mother was supportive of her performing her music publicly, not so that she could be famous, but in order to show others how important they are and how they can make a difference for the world. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order so that people can see their importance and the ways they could impact the world. Her family didn't have any idea about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. The singer claims she is a fan of creating music. Music to her is the only method of feeling anything.
